For my assignment I created three diptychs. The first one is a vertical diptych created out of photos I took of my violin in two different perspectives, one head on and the other zooming in on the bridge. While the first picture is kept at a far distance so hat the enire violin fits in the picture, the second one is very close up and shows only one half. They are unified visually in the color scheme, as well as cnceptually in the subject matter. My other two diptychs are horizonal and consist of pictures I had taken in my back yard and the woods just outside it. The second diptych contains a picture of a fallen tree alongside a close-up of clothes pins on a clothing line. The picture of he tree is taken at a further distance while the clothes pins are close up. Visually, both pictures have the same color scheme with light browns and greens, plus a fallen branch in the first picture happens to lead into the shadow of the tree in the second picture. Conceptually, both pictures are taken outdoors and show a great deal of nature. The third diptych shows a picture of moss at the bottom of a tree next to a close up of a red flower. This diptych also has the first picture kept at somewhat of a distance while the second picture is closer up. The pictures are unified visually in their green tones as well as the contrasting colors in the green moss and the red flower. Conceptually, these pictures are also focus a lot on nature and plant life.
